about our jerky
Our jerky doesn’t look like other vegan jerky out there.
In fact, we’d wager that ours looks more like, well, jerky. That’s because while other vegan jerky are blended, mushed, pulsed, processed with additives like soy or pea protein, and then reconstituted into strange rectangular or cylindrical shapes, our jerky is hand sliced, marinated, and dehydrated. So what you see is what you get: Jackfruit and kitchen-tested (and retested (and then retested again)) recipes. What a beautiful combination.
perfectly snackable
On hiking trails, at the office (even if it's the virtual office), in kayaks, on road trips, and pretty much anywhere else. Our hickory smoked variety will take you back to your childhood camping trips. Its cousin, cracked pepper, has the perfect amount of savory spice. And in tasting our sweet chili jerky you'll notice we've upped the monkfruit (a natural super sweetener) and added ancho chili, thai chili, and cayenne for a balanced kick. Whichever Snack Jack jerky you choose, rest assured it's low in carbohydrates, soy free, gluten free, vegan, yet packed with fiber and taste.
unmatched ingredients
Other jerky (vegan or otherwise) is full of soy sauce and sugar. Ours isn't.
Seriously, do some label surfing next time you're in the jerky aisle. Most jerky is basically the flavor of soy and sugar. So how did we do it? How did we make jerky without the most quintessential of jerky ingredients and still get that big umami punch? We looked to nature and packed on the flavor with tomato, mushroom, beet, poblano pepper, seaweed, onion, garlic, and monkfruit to deliver a complex, robust flavor profile. Learn more...
giving back
We donate a percentage of our profits to Keep Austin Fed, a fantastic local nonprofit that works to reduce hunger and help the environment by connecting surplus food and hungry neighbors.
Keep Austin Fed redirects food that would otherwise end up in a landfill (perfectly good, wholesome and nutritious food) from commercial kitchens and distributes it to charities that serve hungry people in need.
