jackfruit is...

If you’re of a literary bent, it’s Moby Dick. If you’re an astronomer, it’s Jupiter. A fan of French cuisine? Then it’s Paul Bucose (or is it Joel Robuchon?). However you hand slice it, jackfruit is big. In fact, it’s the biggest fruit in the world, with each fruit measuring up to 100 pounds of superfood goodness. People in tropical regions like Mexico, India, Sri Lanka, and Brazil have been cultivating jackfruit for centuries. When harvested young, jackfruit has a fairly neutral yet meaty texture and taste, making it an incredibly versatile meat alternative. When mature, jackfruit becomes yellow and sweet, and is used in smoothies and desserts. Even better, jackfruit is prolific - each tree can produce up to three tons of food per year without any pesticides, herbicides, or irrigation. We fully admit that we're biased, but we love it and think you will too.
