INGREDIENTS

What's in Snack Jack?

Our jerky is made from simple, wholesome ingredients. Diana created it in her kitchen with ingredients you can find in your local supermarket, so there's nothing funky or fake in it! Just real food. Take a look and see for yourself:

Ingredients: young green jackfruit, tomato, mushroom, seaweed, hickory smoked water, paprika, garlic, onion, monkfruit, beet, ancho chile, natural sea salt, cracked pepper (Cracked Pepper flavor only), Thai chili (Sweet Chili flavor only), Cayenne (Sweet Chili flavor only)

What is monkfruit?

Monkfruit is a fruit from Southeast Asia that tastes 200-300 times sweeter than sugar, but has no sugar (a zero glycemic index) and does not affect your blood sugar levels. We use pure monkfruit, which does not contain any bulking agents like the monkfruit extract you usually find in stores.

What is natural smoke flavor or hickory-smoked water?

GREAT question! We get this a lot at farmers markets. This is simply water that is smoked with hickory. It does not contain any preservatives or artificial coloring or flavors. It's simply water that is smoked in a smoker.

Does Snack Jack contain gluten?

Yes! Snack Jack is 100% gluten-free. It is prepared in a kitchen that is 100% gluten-free and that does not and has never produced anything with gluten. We're working on certification right now!

Does Snack Jack contain soy?

Yes! Snack Jack is 100% soy-free and produced in a facility that has NEVER seen soy. When Diana found out she had a soy allergy, that was one of the first things to go!

Does Snack Jack contain oil?

Yes! Snack Jack is 100% oil-free. We understand that a lot of people follow an oil-free diet like our friend Kurt, so we don't even SLICE our jackfruit with oil--which to anyone who has ever processed a jackfruit, knows how crazy that is!

I'm allergic to mesquite. Can I eat this?

We don't smoke our jerky with mesquite because we found out there are a lot of people with mesquite allergies. Instead, we use hickory to smoke our jerky.

I'm allergic to latex. Can I eat this?

Great question! If you have a latex allergy, you should seek the advice of your doctor. In our experience, we've had several people with latex allergies come by our farmers market booths and try samples of Snack Jack. Each time, they've had no reaction to it. One of our family members also has a latex allergy and snacks on it all of the time. He to has never had an issue. However, we recommend seeking medical advice from a doctor before trying Snack Jack if you have a latex allergy.

In case you're wondering, jackfruit oozes latex when cutting into the fibers while raw. It's one reason why jackfruit is such a hard food to work with. That latex, which looks kind of like Elmer's glue, is extremely sticky (think tree sap, but worse).

I'm diabetic. Is Snack Jack diabetic-friendly?

Yes! Snack Jack is low glycemic index and has no sugar added.

I'm on a restrictive diet. Can I eat Snack Jack?

Most likely! Snack Jack is friendly to Vegan, Paleo, Keto, Low Carb, Low Calorie, Low Glycemic Index, Diabetic, and Whole Food Plant Based diets.
